This moped-style e-bike stands out for its power, comfort, and convenience. A massive 1040 Wh battery provided an exceptional range of 37.17 miles in our range test, surpassing all other models tested. The bike’s 52V electrical system and 1000W hub motor deliver remarkable power and acceleration, especially considering its 97-pound weight.
Ride1Up’s Multi-Class Speed System allows riders to adjust the bike’s output based on terrain and local regulations. Registering the bike unlocks an off-road mode, further enhancing performance for use on private property. While the Super73 S2 also offers an off-road mode, it doesn’t match the Revv 1 FS in power and speed. Featuring 50mm of rear suspension and a 120mm suspension fork, the Revv 1 FS is significantly more comfortable than the hardtail Ride1up Revv 1. Upright handlebars and a long, comfortable seat further enhance ride comfort on rough terrain. Full fenders, lights, turn signals, and a horn add urban utility and a distinct moped-like feel. The clear 3.5″ central display received high marks from testers, providing comprehensive ride data day and night, a significant improvement over the smaller display on the Super73.

Specialized has heavily invested in the e-MTB market, and their innovation is evident in the Levo’s ride quality and motor integration. While several e-MTBs may appear similar on paper, testers were consistently impressed by the Levo’s Brose motor power delivery. At 2.98 kg, it’s slightly heavier than Shimano’s EP801, but this weight is negligible on a 51 lb 3 oz bike. The Levo motor delivers 5Nm more torque, but its modulation and responsiveness stood out in testing. Testers unanimously praised the Levo’s ride quality, describing it as “more natural,” “more balanced,” and “more like a regular trail bike.”
Despite the inherent weight of full-power e-mountain bikes, the Levo’s integration effectively masks its mass better than competitors. In range testing, the Levo covered 33.1 miles on its 700Wh battery, slightly less than the Canyon Spectral:ON with its 900Wh battery, but more than other bikes in our test group. Adjustable geometry and mixed wheels make the Levo Comp highly customizable. Adjustable headtube angle and bottom bracket height allow riders to quickly tailor the bike to different riding styles and terrains. The Levo’s downhill performance ranked highest in our testing, emphasizing its superior geometry and handling. Power assist in any of the bike’s three modes cuts out at 20mph, but downhill, the Levo often exceeds these speeds naturally. According to lead tester Joshua Hutchens, “The low center of gravity and well-balanced kinematics on this bike give it the best handling.”
While a top performer on trails, the Levo Comp Alloy has areas for improvement. The SRAM Code R hydraulic disc brakes are effective but lack the adjustability of Code RSC brakes found on the Santa Cruz Heckler. Despite e-bike-specific forks with stiffer steerer tubes becoming common, the Levo curiously uses a standard Fox 36 Rhythm fork. The base model Levo display is a basic LED readout showing battery level and ride mode; higher-end models feature the more advanced Mastermind TCU with customizable color graphics and micro-tuning options.
