Getting here is easy. Located in a central area, the museum is accessible via public transportation. While there is no dedicated parking directly in front of the Money Museum, visitors can find various parking options nearby. It’s recommended to make alternate parking arrangements prior to your visit.
Opening Hours and Reservations
One of the best features of the Chicago Fed Money Museum is that entry is completely free! Walk-in visitors are welcome and do not need reservations. This makes it a perfect spontaneous activity during your Chicago exploration.
For larger groups of 15 or more people, reservations are required to ensure a smooth and enriching experience for everyone.
Accessibility
The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago is dedicated to providing an inclusive environment for all visitors. The Money Museum is fully wheelchair accessible, making it easy for everyone to navigate the exhibits. Service animals are warmly welcomed.

Please be aware that certain items are prohibited within the museum. These include, but are not limited to:
- Firearms, stun guns, knives (including larger pocket knives), utility/box cutters
- Explosives
- Pepper spray or mace
- Illegal drugs
- Other illegal or potentially dangerous items
It is important to note that firearms are not permitted in the Museum at any time, regardless of concealed carry status. There are no storage facilities for prohibited items, and visitors carrying such items will be asked to leave the premises.
To help maintain the museum’s environment, we kindly request that visitors refrain from consuming food and beverages inside the exhibit areas. A drinking fountain is conveniently located just outside the restrooms for your use.
